Chicken & Chorizo Orzo

This quick and simple chicken and chorizo orzo is bursting with flavour and will soon become a household favourite.

Ingredients (For 2)

  • Handful of Cherry Tomatoes

  • Half a Chorizo

  • Fresh Basil

  • Dried Oregano

  • Chilli Flakes

  • 300g Orzo

  • 1 Sweet Red Pepper

  • 1 Red Onion

  • 3 Gloves of Garlic

  • Lemon Juice


  1. Using a wok or large frying pan cook a handful of cherry tomatoes (halved) with half a chorizo (sliced into half moon shapes) and 3 (roughly chopped) cloves of garlic. Cook for 5 mins or until the oil runs from the chorizo and then set aside.

  2. Cook 300g of orzo for 8-10 minutes.

  3. In the same pan and chorizo oil cook 2 chicken breasts, 1 red onion and 1 sweet red pepper (all sliced). Half way through cooking generously sprinkle over dried oregano and chilli flakes (to taste). Cook until chicken is cooked all the way through.

  4. Add chorizo, cherry tomatoes and garlic with the chicken and veg along with some torn up fresh basil leaves and mix together.

  5. Drain orzo well and then add to main pain and mix together.

  6. Serve and Enjoy.
